Brian has a diverse background in all aspects of marketing, with
extensive experience on both the client and agency sides of the
business.
He has held management positions in market research, strategic planning
and brand management for both Harrah's Entertainment, Inc., and the
Promus Companies, the parent company of Hampton Inn, Homewood Suites
and Embassy Suites Hotels. He received the Chairman's Award at the
Promus Companies and was chosen as a President's Associate at Harrah's.
He also served as the head of the marketing team that successfully
planned and executed the opening of a $310 million entertainment
complex in St. Louis, Missouri, and served in the same capacity
throughout its first year of operation.
His agency experience includes serving as senior vice president and
group account supervisor at Thompson & Company, where he was a partner.
In 2001, he co-founded carpenter/sullivan with Doug Carpenter, and in
2006, they merged with Sossaman + Associates -- forming carpenter |
sullivan | sossaman, where he and Doug serve as managing principals.
Brian earned a B.S. in finance from the University of Tennessee and an
M.B.A. in marketing from the University of Memphis.
Additionally, Brian has been involved in many civic endeavors including
the Mid-South Junior Golf Association and the Phoenix Club. He also
currently serves on the Alumni Executive Board at Memphis University
School.
